Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement
legalreportcard.com (the "Site") is operated by CDWJ LLC ("LegalReportCard," "we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
2. Who may use the Site
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit content.
3. What the Site is — and is not
The Site provides a directory of family-law attorneys, user-submitted reviews, and general legal information and recovery resources. Nothing on the Site is legal advice, and nothing on the Site creates an attorney-client relationship with anyone. Listing on the Site is not an endorsement, referral, or recommendation of any attorney; attorneys do not pay to be listed, ranked, or featured. Always consult a licensed attorney about your specific situation.
4. Accounts
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. SMS / text messaging
LegalReportCard is a service of CDWJ LLC. By adding your mobile number to your account, you consent to receive one-time account verification codes by SMS from CDWJ LLC. This is a transactional service: a code is sent only when you request one during signup or login. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
- Message frequency varies based on your account activity.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to cancel at any time. Reply HELP for help, or email help@legalreportcard.com.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. See our Privacy Policy for more.
6. Reviews and user content
Reviews exist to help people make informed decisions, so they must be honest:
- Submit reviews only about attorneys with whom you have firsthand experience (as a client, opposing party, family member of a client, or professional colleague), and identify that relationship accurately.
- Reviews must be truthful and reflect your genuine opinion and experience. Fake reviews, paid reviews, reviews of competitors by attorneys or their agents, and reviews written in exchange for anything of value are prohibited.
- Don't include other people's private information (addresses, case numbers, children's names) or content that violates a court order or confidentiality obligation that applies to you.
- No threats, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful content.
Every submission is held for human moderation before publication. We may approve, reject, or remove content at our discretion under these guidelines — but we publish honest reviews whether positive or negative, and removed or rejected content is retained internally as a moderation record. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to share honest reviews of the Site or of any business, here or anywhere else, consistent with the Consumer Review Fairness Act.
By submitting content, you grant LegalReportCard a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Site. You retain ownership of your content and you are responsible for it.
7. Attorney information and accuracy
Attorney profile data is compiled from public sources and from attorneys themselves, and may contain errors or be out of date. Ratings and reviews are the opinions of their authors, not statements of fact by LegalReportCard. If information on a profile is incorrect, use the "Submit update request" button on that profile or email us, and we will review it. Attorneys may respond publicly to reviews of them and may claim their profile to maintain their own information.
8. Google content
Some profiles display that attorney's rating on Google, retrieved live from Google and clearly labeled. That content belongs to Google and its users, is not part of LegalReportCard's reviews, and is subject to Google's own terms.
9. Prohibited uses
- Scraping, harvesting, or bulk-downloading Site content or data, or accessing the Site by automated means without our written permission
- Impersonating any person, or misrepresenting your relationship to an attorney
- Attempting to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Site or its data
- Using the Site to harass, defame, or harm anyone
10. Intellectual property
The Site's design, text (other than user content), and compilation are owned by LegalReportCard. You may not copy or republish them except for personal, non-commercial use.
11. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice including the work, the infringing URL, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and your signature to casey@legalreportcard.com with the subject "DMCA Notice." We respond to valid notices, including by removing content where appropriate, and may terminate repeat infringers.
12. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LegalReportCard and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100).
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LegalReportCard and its operators from claims arising out of content you submit or your violation of these Terms.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Site or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. Sections 6 (license), 7, and 10–14 survive termination.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Mexico.
17. Changes
We may update these Terms; the date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
